Remember the Monarch Remember Gabby
I choked back tears as I finished the last pen strokes of this one. This is Gabby Petito: the 5th soul in my victims of domestic violence series. Why the butterflies, you ask? The last photo taken of this 22-year old was on a monarch butterfly background. She had a lot in common with these brilliant insects. She was beautiful and traveled long distances. Gabby Petito, an influencer, was killed some time in August of 2021 by her fiance, Brian Laundrie while on a cross country trip. There were signs of abuse along the way but they were shelved until it was too late. This is for Gabby and all of those who didn't leave, couldn't leave or have yet to leave an abusive situation.
